Welcome to my first published income report for Niche site study! As this is the first month and initial launch of Niche site study, there are only going to be reports of my recent adsense earning and my spending for the work done during the month.
The goal is to be totally transparent what i do and share all details to all users. Hope this can inspire most of you when i progress from month to month. This report helps in keeping track of what i have achieved during the month, and also to better improve myself.
Hired 2 VAs in August.
In August, i hired 2 Virtual assistant for my niche site study team. One turned out to be working really well, and the other not so much. So in the end, i let one of them go as she is not quite suitable for the job.
I am always hiring, and beyond look out for new staffs. Sometimes in the hiring process, you ended losing quite a bit of money as things doesn’t worked out as planned. But how do you find ones that suits your team? You KEPT HIRING! Don’t be afraid of losing your investment money. If i counted all the VAs that i have hired during the past year, i have hired about 15+ VAs (this is after the interview, and trial task period) before i start hiring them. Out of all the VAs, maybe there are only 1 or 2 VA that you really wanted to keep. A good VA will take a huge load out of you, as long as you have your work system planned out carefully. ie not letting your VA wasting time doing unnecessary work.
So keep hiring your VAs, keep pushing them to their limits, delegate them new task, dont underestimate them, see what they are capable of. In the end, you never know you might find yourself a gem. In future post, i will publish post about my hiring process, and detailed every step i took to filter any unqualified applicants.
My Adsense Sites.
During the past year, i have been busy doing my research on Niche sites study and building my Private blog network. I have only 1 VA at the time, and all the work he has been doing for me is writing unique articles on my private blog network. It was in May when i first pushing out about 50 micro niche sites. Out of all these niche sites, some of them were winners from the start (without link building), some rank high with link built from my Private blog network, and most them turn out be losers. I am using Micrositemasters (aff. link) to keep track of my rankings. I am able to track every niche site and keywords, Micrositemasters will tell me my position in google, bing, and yahoo. the neat thing about it is you can arrange it by order whichever category you choose. It will also tells you if your ranking is up, down or remain unchanged. Check out my ranking below:
I wont show all the 60 websites ranking as it would take up the whole space of the post. But i cant tell you can that even some of the websites are ranking in the top 10, that doesnt mean they will have a high earning. The earnings are all depending the CPC and local monthly search. What i founded out that local monthly search volume are much more important than CPC. If you have a website that has a high search volume, say 15,000 local search per month. And if this website is ranking quite high, you can bit quite a bit of traffic coming to your site. But what if your CPC rate sucks? The search volume makes up for this loss, more traffics means more potential clicks, even if your CPC is low like $0.25 cents. If you get 50% of this 15,000 traffic per month,(7500 per month) that will be 250 views daily (7500/30), assume only 6% CTR, 250 x 0.25 = $3.75 a day. You will get yourself a $112.50 USD per month site.
Adsense Earnings in August 2013
Here is the look of my adsense earning in August:
What i noticed
The niche sites adsense eaning started to climb up ever since i started link built from my private blog network, increase up to 1084% percent from the previous month! Crazy huh? 1 website is earns about 58 % of my total adsense earnings, while others earns in the range from $30+ to $176 USD.
Amazon Affiliate earnings:
I have a couple of websites that have amazon ads and links. This depending on the niche of the website, whether it is product based or info based website. My niche sites monetization methods are 90% adsense, and 10% amazon. Amazon percentage may change as i see great potential in Amazon. I planned to create kindle ebooks on one of the niche site (test and learn on creating kindle ebook myself) and one site purely base on amazon only.
(Quick disclaimer: some of the below links are affiliate links, i do get commission if you ever decided to sign up. These are the products and services that i recommend and use regularly. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions)
Adsense earnings: $2109.12
Amazon earnings: $170.60
Total Gross: $2279.72
VA 1: $375 USD
VA2: $225 USD
VA3: $112.50 USD
total expenses: $1266.15
Net total for August 2013 : $1013 USD
Overall i think 1k income is not too shabby considering I just started plus particularly a failed VA hiring. If you didn’t know, this is the first month i am profiting all this year, so it is definitely well the wait! I am happy that i am patient, didn’t give up during the hard times. I would presume next month expenses will increase as my VAs cannot handle all the article writings. I will outsource the rest of the articles in platform such as Textbroker, Iwriter, Hirewriters and Elance.
So what do you think?
Is there particular area i needed to be improved? Leave me any questions or comments below, I will be happy to hear from you!
