This month has been a busy month for me, because i have a new member in the family. I have a baby girl! My daughter was born on midnight of 31st of Oct, theorically speaking it should be 1st November. During my wife’s pregnancy, visits to the radiology scans concludes that my daughter has an abnormal cardiac condition. This was a nasty surprises that I have been dealing with for the last few months. Nontheless I was very worried about my baby, my daughter could have problems with breathing and even swallowing solid food. I was not prepared for this. I knew that if this is the case, I would have to come up with a big chuck of cash for medical cost and specialist consultations fees ahead.
God listens to my prayers.
During the delivery night I was very nervous. I am worried that my new baby introduced to this world might not be healthy. The good news is, she is 9 days old now, perfectly healthy and normal! What a relief! My older daughter now has a younger sister!
Balancing work and taking care of the newborn is no easy task. For those of you who has young ones in the family, you know how it is. Sometimes you have to wait until the kids goes to bed and be able to work late at night…uhmm…being a parent / online entrepreneur is no a easy task! I am very fortune to have a capable wife who is able help out around the housework while i concentrate on my work!
I sold my site for $12000 USD
In tough times like this, cash gets tight. Before my wife is due to have baby, I was worried that our cashflow may not be enough, particular with the medical cost. It was a reluctant sale for a site that is making passive money every month, but family comes first, and this provided a financial stability.
I figured I could always create new websites and rank them to make them profitable again using my Private blog network. Selling the site and having cash upfront for the new baby is the final decision. Due to client privacy issue i can’t share with you the site details, but i can share you the stats and traffic. The site was created back in April 2013, so that makes the site only 6+ months old.
Traffic Stats for the sold site
The site was receiving about 1000+ unique visits a day. You can see I started link building in July 2013 and traffic begun to pick up ridiculously.
Amazon revenue for the site:
The site is not highly by monetized by amazon’s product due to the niche of the site. Only 10% of the site income came from Amazon. Total revenue for amazon is $375.65
Adsense Revenue for the site:
As you can see from the graph, the revenue graph was pretty linear, it was a very steady income for many months. The revenue started coming in after the link built from my PBN. I have earned $5202.96 NZD in just a short 4 months.
Selling the Site
The site was privately sold to a buyer through Paypal. The payments was made in 4 installments of $3000 USD during the process of domain push, site transfer, setting up and final checking of ensuring the site running smoothly. I always ensure that my buyers are happy with the purchase, or i will refund money back 100% . This is the only way that i will and continue to do business. Be sure to check out my sites for sale if you are interested in purchasing my sites. While paypal is a very convenient method of receiving money, receiving $12000 USD has incurred me a fee of $ 409.20 USD !
My buyer is very happy with the purchase because the site was not affected by the recent penguin updates at all. The site has a high ROI for the investment that he put in. He can either grow the site into a bigger authority site and make more revenue or he could potentially just flip it to make a quick profit.
Total revenue for the site: $375.65USD + $4289 USD + 11590.80 USD = $ 16255.45 USD!
Now that i have sold the site, I can concentrate on more new sites to come! Especially the latest Niche site study One, you can be sure I will give you an update soon.
Adsense Earnings in Oct 2013
Here is the look of my adsense earning in September:
With the latest penguin 2.1 update of the Oct the 4th, many of my money sites were tanked. Revenue is directly affected by this, resulting only $ 1623.70 NZD for the month. It makes me think if relying on adsense is still a viable business model. There are opportunities in selling monetized with selling established expired domains or renting private blog network links.

Overall a pretty good month for the month of Oct! As I just sold one of my top site in Adsense, my next month revenue will be significant lower. The bright side of this is that Niche site study one has just begun and i can focus my energy on that case study. I can also focus on writing new tutorials on this blog and share the secrets of using Private blog network! My next set of tasks to do is setting up an expired domains listings platform for sale in this blog.
